O ur first visit to the Old Swan Brewery was extremely dissapointing. The view is fantastic and the food is good - but service - what service! We had to ask for everything as we were left in a corner and just ignored, and then we had to stand in a queue for 15 minutes to pay the bill (we also noted a number of tourists having to put up with bad service as well). The restaurant attracts tourists and needs to improve significantly in service.

So bad that I didn't want to pay for it...

Well, it is kind a hard to start after such astonishing reviews before us, but I would rank this place as the one of the most dissapointing places that I have ever had a meal.
My pasta tasted as though the microwave had leached out the flavour from it already limp composition. The pasta was stuck together and the sauce disappointingly watery and tasteless.
The crab dish unfotunately lacked freshness, tasting as though it had been keeping the pasta company in the bottom of the fridge for about 5 days.

My husband and I drove all the way up from Mandurah to go here for a beer on tap. We had already had lunch somewhere else on the way.
We waited at the bar to be served for about 5 minutes. There was about 4 other customers in the whole place. When my husband asked for a beer, the barman said that we had to order a meal to get a beer.
I said that we just wanted to have one beer, can we just sit here for a few minutes with a drink. No...you have to order a meal. Unfortunately the only tables where you can just have a drink with no food are already taken.(that was the other 4 customers)
So we left and will never return.
A little hint...if your place is empty and a customer wants to buy a drink...let them spend their money.
