Perth Food Review

T his a new restaurant in Guildford. A pleasant fit out with string curtains breaking up the dining area into smaller spaces.
The restaurant supervisor was keen to ensure that we understood that the menu is tapas style, I think he believed some people had eaten there and left not fully sated as they misunderstood the style of food.
There are three more sunstantial style meals available but the focus is firmly on tapas style.
My guest tried to order a bottle of wine from our waitress but was apologetically told that she could not serve alcohol as she was not 18 and would get another waiter to come over. (Is the cost saving of youth wages worth the inconvenience of the guests?)
No problem, the wine was ordered and duly arrived. The various dishes we ordered were well presented and tasty. One dish arrived as we were basically finishing the rest, a minor issue but tapas style is best when dishes arrive almost simultaneously.
The service was friendly and efficient although we ended up topping up our own glasses from the bottle. (Underage staff not permitted contact with alcohol) We perused the breakfast menu which looked appealing. There is a small courtyard at the rear which is not yet available but would be a pleasant summer spot for dinner.
Dishes ranged between $13-15 and varied in size. Meaning a reasonable meal whilst not being "cheap" would probably represent okay value. This in a city where some establishments are happy to charge $40 for steak on a plate then extra for vegies or salad etc.
Overall a good dining experience and I would definately return to this venue and recommend it to friends.
To thos living in the east of Pert or the hills I would suggest lending support to this place as they are clearly trying to lift standards in the east. Use it or lose it.
